Our Team
The Emergent Recovery Team includes professional counselors and trainers, qualified to provide treatment and consultation in the areas of behavioral health clinical supervision and problem gambling concerns.
Tom Litwicki, Consultant Trainer
Tom has served in the human services field since 1990, including twenty years of dedicated service to the State of Arizona Department of Corrections, and eight years of service to the Tucson community through the development and management of a continuum of supports for persons experiencing homelessness. He currently serves as CEO for Old Pueblo Community Group. Under the direction of its board of Directors, Old Pueblo Group manages the services provided by Old Pueblo Community Services and Old Pueblo Housing Development. Old Pueblo Community Services provides outpatient counseling services, licensed by the State of Arizona, Office of Behavioral Health Licensure, and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities transitional housing, employment coaching, and food distribution to persons experiencing homelessness in Tucson. Old Pueblo Housing Development supports first time low-income homebuyers, as well as offering foreclosure prevention counseling, and home rehabilitation for low-income homeowners in Tucson. This work resulted in the establishment of integrated housing and addiction recovery services which in 2010 received the prestigious Federal Health and Human Services, Science to Service Award.
Tom has a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Human Relations from Northern Arizona University and is a Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor, Clinical Supervisor, and certified problem gambling counselor through the National Council on Problem Gambling. He also serves as a research consultant with the Center for Applied Behavioral Health Policy, Arizona State University, participating in research on organizational development and providing training in professional behavioral health practices. Tom has an extensive history community leadership, previously serving as President of the Board of Directors for SMART Recovery, and currently serving as the Chair of the Tucson Pima Collaboration to End Homelessness Board of Directors.
Dan Town, Substance Abuse/Gambling Counselor
Dan Town is a Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor and qualified by the Office of Problem Gambling to provide counseling services for persons diagnosed with problem or pathological gambling disorders. Dan earned a Masters in Human Resources Development from Webster University. He has extensive experience working with persons who are incarcerated, as demonstrated by his twenty years of experience with the Arizona Department of Corrections. Dan volunteers in his community by leading peer based support groups in the Yuma prisons. In addition to his correctional experience, Dan served in Vietnam, and is a retired United States Marine.
Terry Maloney, Substance Abuse/Gambling Counselor
Terry is a Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor and is qualified as a Gambling Counselor through the Office of Problem Gambling. Terry provides treatment to persons who are incarcerated at the Arizona State Prison in Perryville.
